Method of Sajdah for forgotten acts.

1272. The method of Sajdah for forgotten acts (Sajdatus Sahv) is that following Salm, one immediately makes Niyyat of performing it and places one’s forehead on an object which is allowed and recites: “Bismillahi wa billah wa Salah Ala Mohammad wa Alleh Mohammad”, or “Bismillahi wa billah Allahoma Salah Ala Mohammad wa Alleh Mohammad”. But as a precaution, it is better to say: “Bismillah wa Billah Assalamu alayko ayyauhan Nabiyyo wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh”. Then one should sit up and perform another Sajdah and recite one of the above-mentioned Zikrs and then sit and recite Tashahhud and Salam.
